Corrupted Vinyl is an independent art toy studio founded by Sef Elba, focused on creating original characters and designer vinyl figures. The studio is driven by character, storytelling, and thoughtful design, with a long-term vision of collaborating with licensed IPs and creative partners across art, fashion, and culture.
Sef Elba is a toy designer and artist whose passion for art toys began at a young age. As a child, he was introduced to the world of designer toys through vinyl toy books and collectible art—an early exposure that sparked a lasting fascination with character design and the process of bringing ideas into the physical world.
As that curiosity grew, it evolved into a deeper commitment to understanding the toy-making process, from sketching and sculpting to manufacturing and production. Determined to bring original characters to life, Sef Elba founded Corrupted Vinyl as a platform to explore new ideas and create thoughtfully designed vinyl figures built with intention and care.
Our Process
At Corrupted Vinyl, every figure begins as an idea and evolves through a collaborative, hands-on process focused on character, form, and production integrity. From early sketches to final vinyl, each step is approached with intention and care.
Concept & Design
Each project starts with original character concepts developed in-house. These ideas are refined through sketching, visual exploration, and storytelling to ensure every figure has a clear identity before moving into three dimensions.
3D Sculpting & Collaboration
To bring our characters to life, we collaborate with talented 3D sculptors whose work aligns with our vision. Our figures are sculpted in partnership with artists such as Demi, Cattyum, 0mar___, and other skilled collaborators.
These collaborations help translate our designs into detailed, production-ready sculpts while maintaining a strong artistic foundation and meeting the technical requirements of vinyl production.
Refinement & Production
Once a sculpt is finalized, we move into refinement and production planning. Proportions, balance, and surface detail are carefully reviewed through prototyping to ensure the figure holds up both visually and physically. From tooling to manufacturing, each stage is evaluated to preserve the integrity of the original design.
Final Figures
The result is a thoughtfully designed vinyl figure built with respect for the process, the artists involved, and the collector community. Every release reflects our commitment to quality, collaboration, and character-driven design.
